Dental Experiences

Dental Experiences

I have the pleasure of being extremely experienced dental patient. I’ve thankfully become very immune to fear of dentists very early on in my life. With basically a full mouth of worked on teeth from basic fillings, crowns, root canals, veneers and implants I’ve had them all…..

With starting a new chapter of my life and moving to Canada one of the first things I had to find (after a Salon to do my roots off course!!) was a dentist…..

That’s when I conveniently met Dr. Amr at the Snowflake festival while he was volunteering. He was super friendly and I instantly felt comfortable. I could only imagine what he would be like as my dentist.

Next step was actually to make an appointment….That took a while but I finally got around to it and went into his clinic.

It was meticulous, clean and amazingly welcoming with a little coffee/tea corner and little surgery booties so you didn’t have to take your shoes off.

I got to sit in the most comfortable dentist chair with a massager & heater…..talk about total relaxation, as the Dr. was working on my teeth I was cracking up while watching “Friends”.

They really go the extra mile at Nebula Dental Clinic to make your experience the best ever.

Memories of April

Memories of April

I’ve decided that the last day of each month I’m going to post a gallery of pictures of some of my highlights for the whole month….. I may decide just to put the pictures or possibly have some commentary all depends on my inspiration

Here goes my first in the series……………………………

Making Life Memorable our way!

I’m a swim Mom!!!

I’m a swim Mom!!!

It’s so funny how among all the things I’m juggling I can actually say I have another thing on my list….yup I’m a swim Mom.

No not a soccer mom….. A SWIM MOM. What does that entail other than the obvious going back and forth to practice….oh so much more! So So much more.

That means I have another job of volunteering for bingo, collecting points by attending clinics and courses, volunteering for meets oh and collecting donations for whatever cause. Sounds like so much and you’d think I’d be complaining….Nope not I!! I’m actually loving it!

I love being part of a team (even though I’m not actually the one swimming), making sure the girls are on time and ready to swim full force and most of all being a cheerleader. I don’t think I know how to be “not busy” it’s a luxury I do not understand.

Thrive in Thrive

Thrive in Thrive
Thrive in Thrive

One thing I know to be true is that we’re always looking for the next best thing. From health, products, food, and even jobs, what’s in and what’s considered last year’s news.

I may have stumbled on something that is the new wave of the future….. Thrive Life products and it makes sense…..

Instead of dehydrating they flash freeze then freeze dry…… Up until I went to the Thrive Event I didn’t even know there was such a thing nor did I know the difference. I’m not going to go scientific but basically freeze dried packs in all the nutrients while dehydrating dissolves it all.

The advantages of the Thrive products is that they are cost effective (you don’t throw away spoiled food as much), tasty, quick (my personal favorite especially when it comes to chopping onions), quality, convenient and healthy.

So what’s the difference??? Well what you’re going to see next blew me away. To think I prefer fresh and get surprised by something like this was pretty shocking to say the least….

So far you think yes that’s a process not so bad no real big issue until………

Don’t get me wrong I still buy fresh produce but to have a few staples in my pantry is surely added value!

Where are we from???

Where are we from???

The million dollar question of “where are you from?” may be easy to answer for some and challenging for others.

In the Global world we live in today we all have so many cultures, races, countries and beliefs that it would be hard to box us into one.

Take me for example……I don’t consider myself to be from one place. I am a culture on my own….but that’s a whole other post that i’ll save for later!!!

This specific post I dedicate to Nancy NG.

I had the pleasure of meeting her while at Indigo as she was promoting her book. We spoke about the challenge of being from so many different places and I can’t wait to start reading her book.

I mean with a title like “No, Really, Where are YOU from?” I totally get it!

So here’s Making Life Memorable no matter where you’re from.

The fat burning drink

The fat burning drink

Don’t you wish you have the formula to have the perfect body?? I mean yes I am happy with myself and I do generally feel happy with my body (until I go to a fitting room and realize I chose a few sizes smaller than what I really am!!

I just want to be as skinny as I think I am in my head….. I know I should work out, walk more, control eating….Which I’ve done and succeeded many times but then I get burned out and life just distracts me!

So as I was on my daily pinning spree on pinterest I spotted something that I can’t wait to try. They claim that it will make belly fat disappear faster than ever. Off course I read the article twice over with all the scientific mubo jumbo about what each ingredients’ health benefits and all that. Seems legit! The best part is that the 3 ingredient concoction is added to your daily coffee….So if noting comes out of it I would have just added some extra flavoring to my coffee….No harm in that!

I decided I’m going to give it a try. So come May 25 (a month from now)  I’ll do a follow up post with my finding!!!

Don’t save that Glitter!!!

Don’t save that Glitter!!!

In my big move from Kuwait to Canada I was faced with the extreme challenge of putting my life into boxes….. A lifetime of memories, accumulating and collecting was put to the test of ” attempt to sell”, “Give Away”, “Save” or “Pack”.

For every website, Pin, organizing list it was universal in its advice. Sound simple until you actually have to do it! This is in no way a post to help you in packing on the contrary it’s about how you should live leading up to the point of needing to pack.

I always took pride in my double closet in my home office/craft room filled with everything your heart desires when it comes to crafting materials. It was really a miniature craft store on its own from paints, card stock, colored  papers, paintbrushes, crafting tools, Styrofoam , felt, fabric, ribbons, wrapping papers, beads, an array of canvases, paint brushes, sketchbooks, floral supplies and most importantly GLITTER.

In my mind there’s glitter and there’s GLITTER. To the normal person they really sound/look the same. Nope!! not for me. There was regular glitter that I let my girls use and splurge on and there’s GLITTER that was “special glitter” that the girls were only allowed to admire from afar and I was the only one that used it sparingly.

Then the day came that I opened my wonderfully organized and stocked up closet and I had to part with it AAAALLLLL….. The cost of shipping could not be justified in comparison to buying everything new was my husbands perspective, Logic says he’s right but then there’s my crafting logic screaming internally “Precious….its precious!”

I replayed in my head all the times we didn’t use the GLITTER while crafting and the life lesson hit me. Never save anything for that “special” day. Use it and abuse it because you never know where life takes you and you end up looking back like I did at all the missed chances to enjoy it.

So don’t forget use that GLITTER while Making Life Memorable before you have to give it away!!!

Music from the Past – The List

Music from the Past – The List

My daughter is only 10 but I see glimpses of what she’ll be like as a teenager….on the most part it seems manageable so it should be interesting to see what I have to say a few years from now!!!

The one thing that I do enjoy about her “grown-upness” is our conversations and her new love to my music….. Its moments when she says “Mama in your olden days” or “in your time”….seriously!!!! Me OLD???? I didn’t get THAT memo…UGH…make that double UGH!!!

Back to my happy place of I’m young, thin and tall!!! We started listening to some of my favorite songs….they reminded me of when I was carefree and had no responsibilities……

I decided to make a list of some of the songs in no particular order genre and the people each one reminds me of!! I’ve attached the youtube links for each song just for your entertainment

Snow to Sun

Snow to Sun

Weather in every Country is super unique and it creates a new appreciation to nature. I’ve never lived anywhere that snowed….let alone continuously cold for long periods of time. I’m now living in Canada that is teaching a new appreciation to both Snow and Sun.

It almost sounds unreal when I say I came from +50 C to -40 C…. hard to really wrap your head around it. As one of my friends said (and I repeat continuously)  “There’s no such thing as bad weather just bad clothing”. I find now with a good coat and boots I can last about 5 minutes outdoors….LOL!!! I actually made myself laugh as I wrote that……

Again its what you make out of it…. snow angels snow men and all

And then when it all melts you have a gorgeous clear sky…..

Your kids get super excited and run up a brown hill that will soon be green…..

………and scream AAAAAALLLL the way down.

It’s all about taking those lemons life gave you and making Lemonade… So Making Life  Memorable is in the palm of your hands!!
